Meeting Mr. Gordon

2 weeks ago i went to an early childhood conference and took some classes with Roscoe Orman (Mr. Gordon). He was really fun; we sang old sesame street songs, he read to us a book that he wrote (rikki and Mobo).
it was a nice day of learning from the masters in the child care business. and to aknowledge the impact that my job has in those kids lives.

nora's hobbies/ los pasatiempos de Nora

Toilet Paper: she goes into the bathroom and likes to push on the toilet paper roll to see it unroll.
the first 3 times it was cute after that not so much, it takes her 2 seconds to do it and it takes me 30 min to clean it up./papel de bano: ella se mete al bano y empuja el rollo de papel hasta que se desenrolla. las primeras 3 veces fue bonito pero despues ya no lo fue tanto, le toma 2 segundos hacerlo y a mi me toma 30 min en limpiarlo.

the dishwasher: every time I open the dishwasher she appears and starts taking the dishes out. I just hope that when she is old enough to help she still likes it./ La lavadora de platos: cada vez que yo abro la puerta del lavaplatos ella aparece alli y empieza a sacar los platos. solo espero que cuando sea suficientemente grande para ayudar todavia le guste hacerlo.
my Wallet: yes she likes to play in my wallet allready, right now she just eats my cards, no harm in that./ My billetera: asi es ya esta jugando en mi billetera, por ahorita es solo para comerse mis tarjetas, eso no hace tanto dano.

my b-day/ mi cumpleanos

Let me tell you about my b-day.(it's one for the books) I not only worked all day and had a class until 9:00 p.m,
but when we got in the car after class we noticed a weird noise, we stop to check it out; Surprise: we had a flat tire. (note: I've never changed a tire before).this was at Weber State university.
Tamara and I were thinking what to do when a guy comes to the car an offers to change the tire, we said ok and looked for tools and the spare; we found the spare under the van, but no tools were found. then another guy came with a jack and a lug wrench (Jordan told me the name of it)

this guy took the tire off. Another guy came with a tool to lower the spare from under the van;then we found out the the spare was also deflated, the second guy still put the flat donut on and like that we drove to the nearest gas station and put air in it. finally we made it home at about 10:45 p.m.
thanks to all the people that stoped to ask and helped us to fix the tire. well i didn't do anything but watch how they did it. maybe next time i'll do it my self.

Manging our homes/ Como administrar nuestro Hogar

I am teaching a class in relief society about home management, so this is what I'm writhing about today.
If you have any ideas, please feel welcome to share them.

When we keep our homes tidy, we feel a sense of pride. We enjoy a peaceful atmosphere at home when it is clean. We can find anything we want whenever we want it.

Housework is important, but it should not take away from more important things.

Having a clean home should not be our main goal; it should be part of our goal to be happy and have happy families. We need time to develop our talents and learn to live the principles of the gospel. When we keep our homes clean without spending too much time on housework, we are free to spend more time in family activities and to do other important things.

To be comfortable, a house has to be functional. The first step in organizing our homes is to decide what the function of each room is. Then we can put what we need in that room in well-organized drawers and cupboards. It takes less time to do a job if we have organized our working conditions first. Sometimes we may not finish everything we have planned for the day. If we do the most important things first, however, we have used our time well.

I can't believe how much she is grown/ Que Grande esta!!!

It seems like it was yesterday when i could hold her in my arms and she would stay STILL!!

Now she is everywhere; she crawls, pulls herself up, and loves to see her self: in the mirror or her shadow.

She stays still for her Papi. She loves her PAPI!!!
